Every Vegas blog has a page like this and most of them are just affiliate links dressed up as recommendations. This one isn’t. These are the sites and tools we actually use ourselves, plus a couple from people we know and vouch for. If something on this list stops being good, it comes off the list.
For Booking Shows and Tickets
- Tix4Vegas (formerly Tix4Tonight) — The discount ticket booths you’ll see up and down the Strip. Heads up: they rebranded from Tix4Tonight to Tix4Vegas, so if you’re looking for the old name, that’s why you can’t find it. Same-day and next-day show tickets, and the deals are real on the mid-tier shows. Don’t expect miracles on the big headliners.
- UNLVtickets.com — If you’re coming for NBA Summer League, buy here and nowhere else. Going direct saves you the resale markup, which on Summer League tickets can be brutal.
- Discotech — An app for comparing nightclub and dayclub table prices and getting on guest lists. Genuinely useful if you’re planning a group night out and don’t want to negotiate with a promoter on the sidewalk.
For Planning and Budgeting
- Splitwise — For group trips. Track who paid for what and settle up at the end instead of doing painful math at the airport. If you’re planning a bachelor or bachelorette weekend, set this up on day one.
- Restless Forge — A small collection of free web tools and essays built for freelancers and makers by a friend of ours. The one we’d point Vegas travelers toward is the real hourly wage calculator – it works out what your time is actually worth after taxes and unpaid hours, which is a useful gut check before you decide whether that dayclub cabana is worth it. There are also some genuinely fun oddball tools on there if you go poking around. Nothing to do with Vegas, everything to do with thinking clearly about what things cost you.
For Current Info and Local Knowledge
- r/vegas and r/LasVegas on Reddit — Where locals actually talk. Good for real-time info on what’s busy, what just closed, and whether that new place is worth it. Take the recommendations with the usual internet salt, but it’s the fastest way to find out what changed this week.
- visitlasvegas.com — The official tourism site. Not exactly a scrappy insider resource, but it’s the most reliable place to confirm event dates and times before you build a night around something.
