It’s easy to assume Vegas only runs on money — but some of the best things to see on the Strip cost absolutely nothing. Fountain shows, casino spectacles, people-watching that rivals any reality show, and plenty of free photo ops are all within walking distance of each other.
Here’s a full list of free things to do, grouped so you can knock out a few in one walk without backtracking across the Strip.
Free Strip Attractions
- Bellagio Fountains: The most famous free show on the Strip — choreographed water, music, and lights set against the Bellagio’s lake. Shows run on a loop throughout the day and evening.
- Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Sign: The classic photo op, located at the south end of the Strip. Expect a line for photos, especially in the evening — early morning is the quieter time to go.
- The Strip at Night: Simply walking the Strip after dark is free entertainment in itself — the lights, the energy, and the people-watching are part of the experience.
Free Casino Sights Worth Seeing
You don’t have to gamble to walk through and see some of the most over-the-top interiors on the Strip:
- The Venetian — indoor canals, gondolas, and painted ceilings designed to look like the sky
- Caesars Palace — Roman-style architecture and statues throughout the Forum Shops
- Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Garden — a free indoor garden display that changes with the seasons
Free People-Watching and Walking Spots
- The LINQ Promenade — open-air shopping and dining strip, no ride ticket required to enjoy it
- Fremont Street Experience (Downtown) — worth the trip for the free overhead light show and street performers
Free (or Nearly Free) Photo Ops
- The Strip’s various replica landmarks (Eiffel Tower exterior at Paris Las Vegas, New York skyline at New York-New York)
- The “LOVE” and other seasonal Strip-adjacent sculptures and signage that rotate throughout the year
- Hotel lobby displays, especially around the holidays, when several properties go all-out with free seasonal decor
A Logical Walking Order
To avoid backtracking, a logical walking order from south to north on the Strip looks roughly like:
- Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Sign
- New York-New York / Park MGM area
- Bellagio Fountains + Conservatory
- Caesars Palace / Forum Shops
- The LINQ Promenade
- Continue north toward Fremont Street if you want to extend the day downtown
Most of this can be done in a single afternoon/evening on foot, especially if you time it to catch the Bellagio Fountains around sunset when the lighting is best for photos.
